The Widows Gallery – Rising Strong (Edition 14)

Happiness

“The Lord sustains the widow and the fatherless…” – Psalm 146:9

At the Emmanuel Ekeji Care Foundation (EECF), we believe in the power of resilience, faith, and community. Every year, through our Widows Support Initiative, we meet extraordinary women who, despite unimaginable hardships, rise with strength and dignity. The Widows Gallery – Rising Strong (Edition 14) is a tribute to their courage, showcasing real stories of hope, survival, and transformation.

In this special edition, we highlight 10 widows who have defied despair, embraced empowerment, and are rewriting their destinies—thanks to your support. Their journeys remind us that even in the darkest valleys, light breaks through when compassion takes action.

Why the Widows Gallery Matters?

Widowhood in many communities comes with deep stigma, economic hardship, and social isolation. Many of these women, already grieving the loss of their spouses, face: Property grabbing by relatives Financial instability due to lack of skills or resources Emotional trauma from abandonment and societal rejection

EECF’s Widows Support Initiative intervenes with:
✔ Sustainable skills training (tailoring, soap-making, farming)
✔ Small business grants to kickstart income-generating ventures
✔ Emotional & spiritual counseling for healing
✔ Educational support for their children

This year’s edition, “Rising Strong,” captures how these women are not just surviving—they are thriving.

  • How You Can Help a Widow Rise Strong
These women’s victories were made possible because someone like you cared. Here’s how you can keep the hope alive:

    1. Sponsor a Widow’s Business (₦20,000/$40)
    Your one-time donation can provide:

    A sewing machine

    A grinding machine

A startup kit for soap-making or farming

    2. Fund a Child’s Education
Many widows struggle to keep their kids in school. ₦5,000/$10 monthly ensures a child gets books, uniforms, and meals.

    3. Volunteer as a Mentor
Share your skills (business, counseling, vocational training) to empower more women.

    4. Spread the Word
Follow, share, and advocate! Awareness opens doors for more support.
